The Joy of Jummah: Making Fridays Special for Children

Jummah is the Eid of the week! As adults, we understand the spiritual significance of Friday prayers and reading Surah Al-Kahf. But how do we translate the joy of Jummah to a toddler who just sees it as another ordinary day?

Building special Friday traditions is the answer. It can be as simple as wearing their 'Friday best' clothes even if they stay home, baking a special dessert, or having a dedicated Jummah playlist of Muslim kids songs filled with praise of the Prophet (PBUH).

By making the house smell of bakhoor (incense) and playing joyful Islamic children's music on Friday morning, you set a mood of celebration. Children quickly learn to look forward to Fridays just like they look forward to Eid.
